SUMMARY:Blues Legend Roy Bookbinder Returns to the Historic USO
DESCRIPTION:The Historical Society of the Upper Mojave Desert is proud to\, once again\, host Blues Legend Roy Book Binder at a special fund-raising concert at the Historic USO starting at 7:00pm\, with doors opening at 6:30pm.  Tickets are available at the HSUMD Gift Shop for $20 each or $35 per couple. \n\n\n\nRoy Book Binder\, renowned American blues guitarist\, singer/songwriter and storyteller\, is equally at home with blues and ragtime.  His storytelling emphasis in his performances makes his style unique.  Nicknamed "The Book"\, he has been included in The Blues Who's Who\, and The Big Book Of Blues.  He has appeared numerous times on TNN's  Nashville Now television show and has shared the stage with such notables as Bonnie Raitt\, B. B. King\, and Ray Charles.\n\n \nBook Binder\, often described as a "guitar pickin' hillbilly bluesman\," has released an impressive total of 12 albums over the years\, with his 1992 Hillbilly Blues Cats being named one of the ten most essential acoustic guitar albums of that year.  He is also a veteran guitar instructor and conducts weekend workshops for guitarists\, where he demonstrates songs\, turnarounds\, chord variations\, right hand methods\, and many of his own powerful adaptations and unique approaches to the blues.\n\n \nThe talented Alas Tarin\, who has graced the Historic USO's Open Mic stage on many occasions\, will open the show for Mr. Book Binder.
