The tour\, which will leave promptly at 8 a.m.\, will include a visit to the recently burned Union Mine headframe\, southwest of Atolia\, a trip past "Dog Patch"\, and views of mining areas not readily seen from Highway 395. As time permits\, a visit to the Rand Museum will be included. Bundle up according to weather conditions\, and your vehicle will need to have some clearance and sturdy tires. 4 x 4s might be needed for snow or rain.
