SUMMARY:Pre-event before the 70th Anniversary of the Historic USO Building
DESCRIPTION:The next pre-event leading up to the gala 70 the Anniversary celebration of the Historic USO Building takes place on Thursday\, Sept. 17\, from 7 to 9 p.m.  A special panel/speaker event hosted by the Ridge Writers\, through a grant from the California Writers Club South\, and and the Historical Society of the Upper Mojave Desert\n\n invites guests to bring family photos with Ridgecrest and the IWV in the background and veterans' stories and photos for the Veterans Memorial Building  A special potluck dinner will include side dishes and deserts prepared by guests (the HSUMD will provide the entr e).  It is hoped that guests will contribute their cookbooks to the HSUMD collection. This event evokes the Historic USO Building's use during its days as a City of Ridgecrest civic and recreation center.  Tickets are $5 per person\, and are on sale at the HSUMD Gift Shop open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  Doors open for this event at 6:30 p.m.
