DESCRIPTION:Indian Wells  Valley Economic Development Council to announce the formation of the IWV Sports council at Chamber Luncheon. IWVEDC is launching a Sports Council to assist and promote local youth sports tournaments and events. \n\n Travel sports is a huge economic opportunity for the community and local businesses according to John Watkins\, Chairman of IWVEDC. The opportunity to develop a series of local weekend sports tournaments throughout the year has the potential to generate significant business for local enterprises and is too great to pass up according to Watkins.  As an example Watkins said\, last July a local  Pony League baseball organization  held a tournament which drew 275 participants for 3 days.\n\nIWVEDC also supports direct and indirect promotion for expanding economic development in Indian Wells Valley and Ridgecrest.\n\nThe luncheon will take place on March 8 from noon to 1 pm at the Clarion Inn. Reservations are required by calling 760-375-8331 before Monday\, March 7.  The cost is $20 for members and $25 for non-members.
