DESCRIPTION:from 12 noon to 1:30pm in the banquet room of the Clarion Inn\, 901 N China Lake Blvd.\n\nOur guest speaker will be Judge Cory Woodward. Judge Woodward is running for reelection to the bench.\n\nJudge Cory Woodward and his wife\, Paula\, have two children who are 23 and 21 years old. One of their children is in law school\, and the other is graduating from college this spring. They have lived in Tehachapi for over 20 years\, and in Kern County for 29 years. Cory was a deputy district attorney for 16 years\, and half of those years he was assigned to East Kern County\, working every week in the courts of Ridgecrest\, Mojave\, and Lake Isabella. In 2003\, he was elected Commissioner of the Superior Courts by the Judges of the Superior Court. In 2007 he was appointed to the bench as a Judge by former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. For 12 of the 13 years he has been on the bench\, he has been assigned to East Kern County. Cory and his wife were raised in Barstow and have a special affection for the desert.\n\nThe cost of the luncheon is $15 and reservations are required.
