DESCRIPTION:You may eventually find yourself in a situation requiring first-aid for a family member\, friend\, complete stranger\, or yourself. Emergency Care and Safety Institute (ECSI) Standard Adult\, Child\, and Infant First Aid / CPR / AED certification is good for two-years. Most injuries and illnesses do not require lifesaving efforts. Saving lives is important\, but knowing what to do for less severe conditions may greatly improve the victims long-term recovery. First aid is the immediate care given to an injured or suddenly ill person. First aid does not take the place of proper medical care. It consists only of providing temporary assistance until professional medical personnel arrive\, if needed\, is obtained or until the chances for medical recovery without medical care is assured.
