The community is invited to come and enjoy this concert which will feature Robert King and Andrew Christison, the winners of the Young Artist auditions which were held in February. 7pm at James Monroe Middle School Gym. Robert King, age 17, will be the violin soloist playing Fritz Kreisler’s interpretation of Mozart’s “Rondo” from Serenade No. 7. Andrew Christison, age 16, will be the french horn soloist playing Horn Concert No. 1, Op. 11, by Richard Strauss. The orchestra, under the direction of Robert Martinez, will accompany the young musicians in their performances. The second half of the concert will feature the orchestra playing three movements from The Planets by Gustav Holst: Mars, Jupiter, and Neptune. The winners of the Peter Pinto Memorial Scholarship will also be announced at the May concert. It promises to be an enjoyable concert highlighting our musically outstanding Ridgecrest youth. Tickets are available at Red Rock Books and at the door for $10 general admission and reduced price for senior, military, and students.
