Interested in learning more about unmanned systems and their potential while enjoying a fun community event? Mark your calendars for the first-ever “Cal UAS Day” at Inyokern Airport, set for November 16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This event is designed as a celebration of civilian unmanned systems and their many uses, in a format that is designed to educate the public as well as provide a glimpse at the limitless potential for this technology at Inyokern.
“We believe that Inyokern, with its partnerships between industry, academia, and vast technical expertise, is the singular best place in the country for UAS work,” said Cal UAS Project Lead Eileen Shibley. “Our community is committed to supporting technological endeavors, and this UAS Day event is the perfect way to showcase the exciting new technologies that make up the unmanned systems industry.”
Cal UAS Day will be a full day of fun for the whole family, including unmanned systems displays and demonstrations, events for the kids, entertainment, food and more. The event is free to everyone, as the Cal UAS team hope to showcase everything Inyokern Airport and UAS technology has to offer.
“Unmanned systems are more than just what you see on TV,” said Shibley. “These aircraft can be used for thousands of purposes, from fighting fires to dusting crops. I hope everyone will attend Cal UAS Day and learn more.”
