Next spring, the Community Light Opera and Theater Association will present “The Importance of Being Earnest” the witty and buoyant comedy of manners by Oscar Wilde. Director Becki Cornett will soon be holding auditions for the classic farce which features men-about-town, John Worthing and Algernon Moncrieff as they pursue fair ladies Gwendolen Fairfax and Cecily Cardew. Matters are complicated by the imaginary characters invented by both men to cover their on-the-sly activities. The comedy has parts for several men and women with good comedic timing. The character ages range from young adult to mid-fifties. Interested actors are encouraged to come to auditions on Friday, January 10th at 6:30 p.m., or Saturday, January 11th at 1 p.m. at Center Stage, 1425 N. Inyo. Performance dates for this award-winning musical will be March 14, 15, 21, 22, 23, 28 and 29. For more information, please call the CLOTA hotline: 446-2411.
