Democratic Club Lunch

The Democratic Club of the High Desert shall hold our next luncheon meeting Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 11:30 AM at the Homestead Restaurant Patio Room, located at 901 N. Heritage Dr., Ridgecrest. We are pleased to announce that our visiting guest speaker shall be California City Mayor Chuck McGuire. Mayor McGuire served on the City Council for eight years prior to being elected Mayor last November. Mayor McGuire was in the US Air Force prior to serving as a CHP Officer for over 26 years, (24 years assigned to Mojave). He was also a firefighter and EMT. Mayor McGuire has been a resident of California City since 1971 and recalls his experience in Cal City as living in a close knit family community. Based upon his substantial background in community service, Mayor McGuire draws his vision of what Cal City should become in the future. He supports a rational policy of cannabis control in order to afford the City to the opportunity to offer the municipal services and amenities necessary to ensure a productive quality of life for all residents. Mayor McGuire is married to Althea. Everyone is welcome to attend. There is no admission fee; buying your own lunch or a drink is optional.
