HSUMD MEETING FOCUSES ON HISTORIC BICKEL CAMP.
At the March meeting of the Historical Society of the Upper Mojave Desert on Tuesday, April 21 at 7 p.m. at the Historic USO Building, 230 W. Ridgecrest Blvd., author Bill Gann will discuss the history and colorful characters associated with famed Bickel Camp, established by miner Walt Bickel after World War II in Last Chance Canyon, and a destination for historians and preservationists to this day.
