John Karlik, an Advisor with the UC Cooperative Extension, will speak about plants and their water requirements. He will discuss plant adaptations that save water, how plant water need is estimated, and how irrigation schedules can be developed either in simple fashion or with weather-related data. He will also speak about limitations to irrigation calculation, and provide practical tips to save water in irrigated landscapes, gardens, and orchards.
