Ode to Agatha (Interactive Mystery)

Master Mystery Productions and Ridge Writers have united to bring a special event to Ridgecrest honoring world-famous mystery writer, Agatha Christie: a traditional British fete and interactive mystery celebrating the one-hundred-year anniversary of her sleuth Hercule Poirot’s first case! One century ago, Poirot solved the crime in The Mysterious Affair at Styles, first published in 1920. Now we’re hosting a tribute to the Queen of Crime by throwing a party in her honor, a classic British-style event with games, light snacks and beverages, prizes, and a new interactive mystery from Master Mystery Productions. Guests will work in teams inspired by Agatha Christie stories, trying to find out whodunit, how, and why in this ultra-interactive experience. Starring Skeleton Key and Diamond Mask winner Monica Lorenz (The Last Garden Party, Bury Me in Paris) as the eccentric and immensely rich Simone Davenport whose flighty ways have rubbed all her relatives and guests the wrong way, the mystery will feature lots of scandal, laughter, and shocking twists as the audience combs through evidence and interrogates the kooky suspects for the first time. Was it the stepdaughter with a dangerous hobby? The younger second husband who married her for her money? Or the former companion who has her own mysterious affair? Featuring writer/director Daniel Stallings, Devanne Fredette (The Last Garden Party, Bury Me in Paris), Nicole Johnson (The 39 Steps), Skeleton Key and Diamond Mask winner Katie Cozine (Bury Me in Paris), and introducing Nicole Cepaitis, Ode to Agatha is a fun, feisty, and festive way to spend a midsummer afternoon. Ode to Agatha performs Saturday, July 15 at 2 p.m. at Ridgecrest Presbyterian Church (633 W. Las Flores Blvd.). Tickets are $20 single, $30 for two, which buys food, drink, access to the games, and a seat at the show. Doors open 1:30 p.m. for the games. Seating is limited, so be sure to buy your tickets soon.
