“THE SILENT CITY” OPENS SEPTEMBER 23 Ridge Writers and Master Mystery Productions are teaming up for their third Weird Weekend collaboration to bring a new interactive thriller to close out their two-day celebration of the stranger side of the Mojave Desert. “The Silent City,” written by C. R. Rowenson and directed by Daniel Stallings, takes audiences to the seemingly abandoned city of Ridgecrest in the year 2063 to find out the truth of why it was sealed off from the outside world. The journey into the future is fraught with danger, however, as the guests form teams to help a field team breach through the quarantine only to discover that “The Silent City” may not be so silent after all. With timed challenges, physical clues, and audio transmissions from the field team, “The Silent City” aims to recreate a post-apocalyptic world and a heart-squeezing adventure. Featuring the voice talents of Katie Cozine, Monica Lorenz, Nicole Johnson, Matthew Bradford, Devanne Fredette, Thomas Cozine, and Sam Johnson, the show will also be the last Master Mystery Production performed in the Ridgecrest area for the 2017 season. “The Silent City” performs Saturday, September 23 at 7:30 p.m. at Ridgecrest Presbyterian Church (633 W. Las Flores Ave.). Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 each and are available now at Red Rock Books. “The Silent City” contains mature content (censored strong language and elements of horror) and therefore is not recommended for young children. A light refreshment buffet will be offered at the show.
