About Us

My name is Debilyn Kinzler, and I am honored to announce my candidacy for Ridgecrest City Council.
I came to Ridgecrest to teach at Cerro Coso Community College, but it wasn't long before this remarkable community became home. Over the years, I have become deeply invested in the people, businesses, and organizations that make Ridgecrest such a special place to live and work.
As a professor, I teach first-year composition, creative writing, and public speaking. I earned my bachelor's and master's degrees in English from California State University, Northridge, and am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in English Literature with an emphasis in American Studies at Claremont Graduate University.
Teaching has taught me to listen carefully, consider different perspectives, and seek common ground before making decisions. If elected, I will bring that same thoughtful approach to the City Council. I will work to support our residents, strengthen our local businesses, and help ensure Ridgecrest continues to thrive.
My priority will always be our community. Every decision I make will be guided by what is best for Ridgecrest as a whole. It would be a privilege to earn your trust and your vote.
